Description of Work: Improve the reliability, safety and efficiency of the Academy heat plant. The high temperature hot water (HTHW) pumps are approximately 30 years old and repair parts are no longer available. Several of the valves are in poor condition and do not close off when necessary to repair equipment. This project includes replacing 11 HTHW pumps, piping, electrical gear to support the new pumps, VFD’s, temporary boilers and fuel for the temporary boilers during the shutdown, new equipment pads and abatement of asbestos insulation.

Description of Work: Fully replace the roofs on Building 4, Building 5, Building 21, Building 25, and Building 24 at NIST. Partially replace the roof at the Building 1 library, and Building 2. Replace skylights on Building 2 and Building 25. Remove abandoned equipment, replacement of one roof top unit, relocation of misc. exhaust fans. Procure and install two new exhaust fans. Replace, install and certify lightning protection. Install new primary and secondary roof drains, gutters and down spouts along with snow stops. This work will include TPO roofing, spray foam roofing, lightning protection, electrical, mechanical and controls.

Typical types of projects include interior tenant improvements, modular furniture installations / audio visual upgrades, electronics / computer lab modifications, conference rooms / seminar rooms / classrooms , secure office bays & rooms , site improvements / infrastructure upgrades, building exterior repairs, data / network upgrades & installations, building equipment replacements / building system upgrades and modifications.
